At a young age, I developed a love for painting and drawing, and I have been honing my craft ever since. About twenty years ago, while pursuing my Master’s degree, I took an oil painting class and instantly fell in love with the medium. Oil paints offer a richness of texture and color unlike any other, a quality that continues to inspire my work today. African American women have long been a central focus in my art—often overlooked or marginalized in society, they take center stage in my paintings. In the pieces featured on this website, they are not only the subjects but the heart of my artistic expression.
